What is a chemical peel?
City pollution shows up on the skin more than anywhere else. A chemical peel is a treatment in which a selection of mild organic acids is applied to the surface of the skin, with a noticeable effect on its structure and appearance.
It has two goals:
- Better-looking skin, by removing the damaged top layer;
- Firmer skin, by stimulating new collagen in the deeper layers.
The result is fresher, denser, rejuvenated skin with a smoother texture and fewer visible imperfections.
What a chemical peel is used for
Chemical peels are often used for problem skin. A peel can help with:
- acne, by reducing inflammation;
- scars left after the active phase of acne;
- fine lines and wrinkles;
- enlarged pores;
- dark spots on the face and hands;
- the depth of scars after acne or measles.
