How ear piercing works
The whole visit takes about 10 minutes, and placing the earring itself takes a second. Here is what happens, from the first chat to the moment you leave:
- Consultation. We choose the earrings together: medical earrings in 316L surgical steel, or luxury medical earrings in titanium with 18kt gold plating and cubic zirconia stones. We take into account the child's age and whether the skin has reacted to earrings before.
- Marking. We mark the piercing point and show it to you for approval. For both ears we check the symmetry in a mirror.
- Disinfection. We clean and disinfect the area. The earring stays sealed and sterile until the moment it goes in.
- Piercing. We place the earring with the sterile STUDEX System 75. There is no vibration and no loud sound, so it stays calm even with the youngest children.

Medical-grade hygiene: the STUDEX System 75
We use the patented, single-use STUDEX System 75. The cartridge is sterile and the earring goes straight from the package into the ear, so the specialist never touches the part that pierces the skin. Piercings are done by trained specialists certified for STUDEX 75, with the same protocol for sterility, marking and aftercare at all 6 studios.

Piercing both ears at the same time
For babies and children we recommend piercing both ears at once. With the usual one-ear-then-the-other method, the pause in between is the most stressful part: the child already knows what is coming and reacts more strongly. With simultaneous piercing, two specialists work in sync and it is over in less than a second.
- Less stress for the child: one moment instead of two, with no waiting in between.
- Easier for parents: no need to calm your child down halfway through.
- Symmetry first time: both specialists mark and place the earrings at the same moment.

Medical earrings for a first piercing
The earring in a fresh piercing is part of the procedure, not just jewellery. That is why we only use medical earrings, each in a sterile STUDEX package.
316L surgical steel, included in the price
316L is the grade of steel used for surgical instruments. It is strong, does not rust and releases minimal nickel, which makes it a very good and more affordable choice for a first piercing in children and most adults.
Luxury titanium earrings with 18kt gold plating
Our luxury earrings are nickel-free medical titanium with 18kt gold plating and cubic zirconia stones. The titanium base is what touches the skin; the gold is only a coating. That makes them more hypoallergenic and the best option for a first piercing, especially for sensitive skin. There are 30 models, from 2 to 6 mm.
Baby and child ear piercing
With children the aim is to keep the risk as low as possible: sterility, hypoallergenic medical earrings, a correctly closed clasp and clear home-care instructions. As a practical rule, we pierce babies' ears after they turn 6 months. By then the skin is more mature, the immune system is stronger and the first routine vaccinations are done. It is a good idea to check with your paediatrician first. Older children and adults can have their ears pierced at any time.
For the youngest we pick smaller earrings (2–3 mm) with a rounded shape, so they don't catch on clothes or hair. Both options, 316L steel and gold-plated titanium, are available, because the earring stays in day and night for the whole healing period.

Ear piercing aftercare
Good aftercare prevents infection and helps the piercing heal faster. This matters most for babies and children, whose skin is more sensitive.
- Keep the ears dry for the first 48 hours.
- Clean twice a day with saline or an antiseptic solution recommended by the specialist.
- Don't touch the earrings with unwashed hands, and avoid rubbing from clothes or hair.
- Leave the earrings in for at least 6 weeks so the holes can heal.
- If you notice redness, swelling or pain, contact us or see a doctor.
Hold the back of the earring so the clasp slides on properly and clicks into place, and leave a small gap between the earring and the skin so air can circulate. Our ear piercing aftercare guide covers it step by step.
A Bulgarian tradition: piercing on Annunciation Day
In Bulgaria it is a long-standing tradition to pierce little girls' ears on Annunciation Day (25 March). The holiday stands for a new beginning and purity, and is seen as a good day for a first pair of earrings. If you are planning a piercing for that date, book ahead.
